Natural Skin Care Finding Safe Cosmetics One way is simply to buy from the 88 companies that have signed the Compact for Safe Cosmetics—see the list at safecosmetics.org. Or check out a specific product at ewg.org, the Environmental Working Group’s site. It rates the safety of 7,500 personal care items. Pick from its “Better Choices” lists, print and go shopping. Below are a few examples of high-safety products, rated on a scale of 1–10. The lower, the better.
