In case you don't know what a compote is, it's a light fruit dish that can be spooned over pancakes and waffles, or served as a light dessert topped with all-natural whipped cream.
Prep time 15 minutes, Serves 4

2 pints of your favorite berries, such as blueberry and raspberries or 2 cups sliced fruit such as pears, peaches, mango or apples. It's up to you!
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup water
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg

Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan over medium heat. Cook about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until liquid is reduced to medium-thick syrup.
